WOMEN AT HOME AND IN BUSINESS

There is an adage that says the only thing that does not change is change itself. Everything we are seeing or experiencing today has undergone a process of change overtime.

In the time past, society demands a woman (especially wives) to be totally dependent on a man (husband) for her survival.  All that has gone into the trash bin. Women are not only advocate of change these days, but major participants of change process.

Today’s woman is a leader, mother and a wife. She is a team player, a motivator and a builder. How times has change when they were relegated and confined in the kitchen.

In the business world today, women have taken a strategic position in the scheme of things.  Most successful business today are owned and manage by women.

How does these women successfully manage their home front and their businesses?

They have learned to perform dual roles which men used to performed that makes them super humans.  They have learnt that for them to be respected by the society, they must balance their home front with that of their business.

Many women have failed to realize that they have to play a dual role when they ventured into business. And in the process, they got their fingers burnt and they are regretting their actions today.
In as much as business provide a source of livelihood, the family (home front) remains a source of joy to every individual.  As a woman, your husband needs your attention (and you must give him good sex in the night too), your children needs your care (if you have any) as well as your business. Failure to cater for the needs of all these pressing needs is a venture to “doom!”

How can you succeed as a woman with all these challenges?

·         You must first of all place your family needs as top priority. Get a trusted hand to assist you in your business when you are not there.
·         Plan your day the day before. Have a concrete Business Plan that will guide you in your business decisions.
·         Show your family how much you love and care for them in order to get the necessary support you may need to succeed in your business.
·         Close on time to spend enough time with your family.
These days, many women are engaged in home base businesses. In as much as this seems ideal, you must not allow the business to interfere with your family time. Neither should you allow the family to interfere with the business time. Make it clear to them that in as much as they need your love and care, you need income to make their lives better.

Future Trends and Techniques in Segmentation

Segmentation consists of group of buyers or a process of identifying groups of buyers who share similar set of need and wants.  It is the breakdown of the market for a particular product or service into segments of customers, which differs in terms of needs, wants, lifestyle, religion, income level, gender, buying process etc, and their response to marketing strategies. Today’s organisations need fresh thinking on how to operate and compete in the new economy characterised by hypercompetition, customization and digitalisation. An organisation cannot serve all the consumers in the entire market, the consumers are too many and are too diverse in their buying process.  An organisation therefore, needs to identify the market segment(s) it can best serve. Organisations been aware of these facts has been segmenting their products offerings to target a particular segment(s) of the market rather than using the old method of mass-marketing.  ...

Marketing Planning: doing it right

There is an adage that ‘he who fails to plan, plan to fail’. This statement is as true as tomorrow, because whether you like it or not, tomorrow must surely come – unless you are dead! Planning is the integral part of our daily activities. If you don’t plan your day before going out, no wonder you failed everyday! For marketers planning is an essential task that must be continually undertaken. As we will see, shifting market conditions, including changing customer needs, advance in technology and competitive threats, almost always insure that what worked in the past will not work in the future, thus requiring a new strategy on how a product is marketed. Marketing planning is also important since it is often a prerequisite for obtaining funding whether one is a marketer in a large corporation seeking additional money for his or her department or is part of a small start-up company looking for initial funding. The 21 st century business environment...
