Prepare for your Time


Life has phases and stages. It is like educational pursuit. If you don’t start from primary school, nobody will admit you into secondary school, likewise, if you don’t finish secondary school, no one will admit you into the university even if your father is the VC; so is life.
You must follow life stages, whether you like it or not. The Holy Book says “there is time for everything under the sun. The time to be born, the time to be married and be given to marriage…” So wait for your time, it will surely come. And when it finally comes, you will shine in spite of your age.
I hear people comparing themselves with others “just see Peter of yesterday is now driving a car. When we were in school, I use to teach him, so and so…” You don’t need to look at other people like that. It is their time that is why they are “enjoying”; when your own time comes, no one will stop it – not even the witches and wizards in your entire village.
Looking at people like that brings envy and jealousy; and this has never helped anybody. In fact, it has destroyed our society. It is one of the root causes of “sudden death” of young men and women in our communities these days.
I always tell people when I have the opportunity to do so that, the fact that I am trekking the street today does not mean I can’t drive a Jeep tomorrow. The fact that I fail today, does not mean I will fail tomorrow also. The fact that I am in the village today does not mean I will not visit the White House in Washington tomorrow.
So, why bother yourself and envy other people that they are progressing. Why bother yourself for something you cannot change? If you think you can change it by pulling other people down or killing them, remember that if you want to be a king, then, you don’t have to kill a king.
The Holy Bible says “those who live by the sword will eventually die by the sword… Whatever measure you give others will be your portion in the end”.
What you should be doing right now as your time has not come is to be preparing for your time, so that when it comes, you will be well prepared to take on opportunities that will present themselves.
If you are going about pursuing other people to pull them down, when your time comes, you will not be prepared for it, and all that is meant for you will pass you by.
Prepare and wait for your time, it will surely come no matter how long it tarries. A word is enough for the wise.

Recently, I was watching news on moneywatch.com on my laptop that spurs me in writing this article. In the news, Sales Machine received some comments from reader complaining about having to “click 10 times” in order to view a long post.
